2 Billion Trees Planting Program

The PEI 2 Billion Trees Planting Program is part of a national effort to plant two billion trees and aims to restore nature and increase carbon capture by planting native species on unforested sites, urban areas, and hurricane-damaged forests. Through this program, landowners may request to have trees planted on their property.

PEI Forest Enhancement Program (FEP)

The PEI Forest Enhancement Program provides forestry advice and financial assistance to private woodland owners for managing their woodlands, requiring ownership of at least 1 hectare of forest land and an approved forest management plan. The program covers up to 70% of the cost for many of the treatments we offer, with the landowner responsible for the remainder.

Hurricane Fiona Forestry Recovery Program

The Hurricane Fiona Forestry Recovery Program provides financial assistance for small forestry businesses and landowners to clear fallen trees on essential forest access roads and small woodlots that pose fire risks, with work carried out by professional contractors. Eligible applicants must own forested land affected by Hurricane Fiona, meet specific criteria, and be ineligible for other financial assistance.
